Oldham v RJ Design Studio Limited
Liam Ryan successfully acted for Mr Oldham who alleged he had been subjected to workplace bullying by his employers for an extended period of time spanning nearly 2 years. He was signed off sick from work due to this on three separate occasions and eventually, as a result of the alleged conduct of his employer resigned in October 2013. He brought a claim for stress at work which on the 5th May 2015 concluded by way of a joint settlement meeting (JSM).
Mr Oldham’s case represents the far reaching issues and injury that workplace bullying can cause, but also should provide hope that employees who do find themselves in a position where they have suffered psychiatric injury as a result of the conduct of their employers, can seek redress and compensation in the Courts.
Liam Ryan was instructed by Ms Danielle Lightfoot and Mr Richard Coulthard of Michael Lewin Solicitors.
